Mountain Dew

I like to have a mountain dew every morning for breakfast.
It helps to start my day off in a good way. If I don't have one,
I can get a little grouchy.

Cold weather

My favorite season is summer. I love the warm weather.
Winter is fun because of snow but it gets to cold to be enjoyable.
Also, during the winter people get sick a lot easier and I don't like being sick.

Last weekend...

On Friday night I went to a friends house and stayed the night. I didn't sleep so I was tired and not feeling good the next day. Saturday night I babysat for my cousin and got home at 2. Sunday I went to church then to Constances house and watched movies all day and night. This was not the most interesting weekend.

Technology

I think technology has made my life better because it is helpful with almost everything in todays world. For example, the internet can help with research, answering questions, finding pictures, or even talking with friends. Also, with a cell phone you can call someone in emergency. Lots of other types of technology is very helpful also.

Favorite object

My most favorite object that I own would have to be my phone.
I am always using it and it can come in handy quite often.
People say teens are to caught up in the new technology, which
can be true but it doesn't hurt to use it once in a while.

Last Night's Decision

I could almost guarantee who was going to win the election before it happened, I had a special feeling Barack Obama had already won it. I was correct. Although, I was wanting the election to turn the other way and John McCain be on top. The country will change now, and there is no way of changing that...Obama is in charge. I am curious about what happens with Obama and how our counrty changes. It will be an adventure.

Election Day

Elcetion day is so important to Americans today because this determines the president of our country. The president has a major effect on what happens with our counrty, meaning he can change the life of anyone. Each decision makes a change on many things, whether its big or small. I think if you don't vote...you can't complain about who gets president.

America's Dependence on Foreign Oil

According to the NRDC, America spends more than $200,000 per minute on foreign oil -- $13 million per hour. More than $25 billion a year goes for Persian Gulf imports alone. This NRDC analysis considers oil demand and supply projections and how our current policy of oil dependence effects our economy and security.

The US only accounts for 11% of the worlds production of oil. With this, the US is hit hard by the dependence of oil. We simply cannot drill our way out of this continous problem.

According to David Saied...The high price of oil has nothing to do with its origin; the price of oil is determined in international markets. Even if the United States were to produce 100% of the oil it consumes, the price would be the same if the worldwide supply and demand of oil were to remain the same.

The produced price of oil is the same price in every country, because it is a commodity. The only thing changing the price is each counrty has it's prices for labor and land that may be added to the total price of the barrel.

In my opinion, I think people need to slow down on their use of oil. Oil will soon be gone! And we need to start looking for another source that can fill in the place of oil.

Halloween Costumes

Today is Halloween, and my friends and I dressed up as celerbities.
We have a limo business in town, and we asked for a quick ride to school.
Our body guards rode with us and put out our red carpet before exiting the limo.
Almost the whole school was outside watching and taking pictures.

This was the HUGE highlight of my week!!

Halloween History

HALLOWEEN-the evening of October 31. The eve of All Saints' Day, Allhallows Eve. Observed especially by children in costumes who solicit treats, often by threatening minor pranks.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31. Traditional activities include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses" and carving jack-o-lanterns. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried the tradition to North America in the 19th century. Other western countries started the holiday in the late 20th century including Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom as well as of Australia and New Zealand.

Trick-or-treating, is an activity for children on or around Halloween in which they proceed from house to house in costumes, asking for treats with the question, "Trick or treat?" The "trick" part of "trick or treat" is a threat to play a trick on the homeowner or his property if no treat is given. Trick-or-treating is one of the main traditions of Halloween. It has become socially expected that if one lives in a neighborhood with children one should purchase treats in preparation for trick-or-treaters.

Secret Life of an American Teenager

Secret Life of an American Teenager is a TV series that consists of a modern teenage life. It teaches lessons of high school and shows what kind of things may happen in any situation. Even though every school has its differences, the students act in the same manner.

In this TV series, they talk about drinking, drugs, and pregnancy. Not all of this may happen at every high school, but its always thought about.

How scary would it be to go to school with everyone knowing your pregant??
I guarantee everyone is going to be afraid.

Why would you do this?? Who is the daddy?? When did it happen?? Was it an accident?? This is what everyone is thinking.

In my point of view, it taught teenagers a better way to act. And how to not get caught up in all the drama and to stay away from things that get you in trouble. I enjoy watching this TV series.

Standardized testing

All standardized testing is trying to find the things students have learned over the year's amount of time. Almost all standardized testing is required.

I think this is a good way to review the materials for the past years. Im not a big fan of spending all the time it takes to prepare and take the tests, but it has a good meaning. A lot of times teachers look at your test scores and that way they know what to expect out of you.

If you ask any random kid in high school what they think about standardized testing, i almost guarantee they will say "its a waste of my time". How do you expect any teenager to like testing. Give us a break, its not our favorite thing to do. We have to understand that it makes an affect on our high school career, which makes an affect on our extended life. Most teens aren't going to understand that or care about this at their age now.

Law and Order: SVU

I love to watch and try to figure out mysteries. When watching Law and Order, I get so into the show that I won't even get out of my seat and no one can talk while the show is on.
When I stop and think about how the worlds acts today, this TV show comes to mind. The world is not a perfect place. Bad things happen, and sometimes they are unstoppable.
Watching people get murdered, kidnapped, raped, or even beat to death isn't why I like this show. I like to help the detictives solve what happened, and who did it. It gets my mind going.
My favorite Law and Order is SVU, because it was the first one I watched. And now that I got to know the characters, I don't like to watch anything else.
